Heart of Val d’Orcia

Ride to the very heart of Val d'Orcia, cycling across the vineyards of Nobile di Montepulciano wine to the scenic  Renaissance town of Pienza, (built during the 15th century transforming a medieval village - hometown of pope Pius II - into the ideal Renaissance town, following the humanistic guidelines of the same pope. On the way back to Montepulciano we'll be passing the medieval hamlet of Monticchiello, enjoying great views over the entire valley.


Extended versions of the ride may include the Medieval village of Bagno Vignoni, (built all around a thermal water pool), the medieval village of San Quirico d'Orcia, and many other highlights depending on the requested length of the ride and on the chosen bike tour version (gravel, road or mountain bike / mtn e-bike)


During this bike tour a stop for wine tasting and guided visit of a local winery cellars can be organized upon request, as well as a lunch stop in a local restaurant.


Starting point of the ride :  The Medieval and Renaissance hilltop town of Montepulciano, at 1 hour and a half drive from Florence


Length of the ride :  your pick !!! choose between a minimum of 30 to a maximum of 50 km. or more, depending on the bike tour version you prefer -  mountain bike (or mtn e-bike), gravel bike or road bike) - and we’ll be happy to advise you the most suitable route for your requirements !!!
